The one thing that made Friday brighter was free local food! Ramen egg with kailan (Cantonese for Chinese kale) and fishermen’s stew, to be exact.
Thanks to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), we just needed to upload a picture on Instagram with the hashtags #AVASG, #LOVESGPRODUCE and #SGLOCALICIOUS. This is part of an AVA campaign to get Singaporeans acquainted with local produce.
Be sure to pick up a flier or two to learn more about merchants like Ah Hua Kelong. It even taught us how to determine if a fish was fresh – the slimier and firmer, the better.
