5 indoor activities that will brighten bad weather

Indoor activities don’t have to be boring – some of these will even help you to work up a sweat! Bookmark this list for when it is gloomy outside.

We all know that sinking feeling when bad weather threatens to wreck a day’s plans. This happens way too often in Singapore, especially during the monsoon season.

These five indoor activities will come to the rescue:

1) Bat your frustrations away – Homerun Baseball

You won’t regret travelling to the west for this. Besides batting at various speeds, visitors will get a chance to play the pitcher. An automated box tells you how accurate your throws are, so expect some friendly competition – it’s all in the name of fun! Covered footwear is recommended.

2) Tackle a series of indoor challenges – Katapult Trampoline Park

From trampoline dodgeball to balancing on a slackline and free falling (back first) onto a cushy landing pad, visitors should ready themselves for a hive of activity. Our favourite section required us to clamber onto walls of varying heights. Note: It looks way easier than it actually is!

3) Unleash the kid in you – LilliPutt

Be prepared to be surrounded by hordes of children, as this mini golf course is a popular spot for birthday parties. Grab a scoresheet and putt your way through 18 holes that are modelled after Singapore landmarks. Some of them have interactive elements and are tons of fun. Bring along socks, as shoes are not allowed on the course.

If bad weather has ruined your night cycling plans, this is a great alternative. On Friday and Saturday evenings, swing by SAFRA Punggol for a cosmic bowling experience. The ethereal lighting and catchy songs had us hooked.

5) For a battle of the (fit) sharpshooters – LaserOPS

Having a solid aim is key to laser tag. But for the rest of us mortals, fitness matters just as much – in hiding, dodging, and running away from the group’s sharpshooters. We did a lot of that at LaserOPS. Because of its central location, getting friends together for the activity was a breeze.
